Optimization of Wheelchair Users Performance using Biomechanical Methods
Abstract
Background: The research aims to optimize movement efficiency performance and inprove the health of wheelvhair users using a biomechanical approach with the Rapid Entite Body Assessment (REBA) method. This study focuses on analyzing body postute and biomechanical loads experirnced by elderly manual wheelchair users while in a sitting position. Method: The research methodology includes observation and posture assessment using REBA criteria, which covers evaluation of neck, back, arm, wrist, and leg positions. Data is collected through direct observation and image or photo capture of wheelchair user activities.
Results: REBA assessment result are used to identify high ergonomic risk areas and formulate recommendations for wheelchair design improvements and more efficient usage techiniques.
Conclusion: The research is expected to produce evidence-based ergonomic guidelines to improve movement efficiency, reduce the risk ofmmusculoskeletal injuries, and enhance the quality of life for long-term wheelchair users.
