Introduction

The global COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected multiple sectors, including tourism. The pandemic has affected the tourism industry, leading to a decline in international and domestic visitors. Additionally, there has been a significant reduction in employment opportunities within the tourism sector, negatively influencing the socio-economic conditions of the community. The government’s implementation of the free vaccination policy and strict adherence to health norms has significantly contributed to the recovery and long-term viability of the tourism sector. An innovative approach to tourism that integrates secure travel with a focus on health is a viable strategy to stimulate the recovery of the Indonesian economy. A thriving tourism industry presents an advantageous chance to enhance the tourism sector’s competitiveness as a destination. It has the potential to generate sustainable economic growth.

The conference carries a theme “Enhancing Community Resilience Through Healthy Tourism: The Role of Communities in Building Resilient and Sustainable Communities”. The conference will feature a specific focus on promoting sustainable tourism, particularly in relation to health. This will encompass several aspects, including community engagement, food safety, collaboration between different sectors, and implementing relevant regulations. We cordially invite academics, students, researchers, and policymakers to present their most recent research in public health surveillance and health policy. This encompasses various areas such as environmental health, occupational health, reproductive health, epidemiology, health promotion, and health administration. We seek to facilitate the exchange of experiences from diverse nations to enhance the resilience of health and tourism systems, promoting sustainable development.
