Abstract

This research determined the English students' perception and attitude towards blended learning pasca COVID-19 at the English Education Program of UNIMUDA Sorong. The design of this research is mix method. Semesters 1-7 of the English Education Department in UNIMUDA Sorong were chosen by the researcher as the sample, which consists of 20 students. In collecting data, the researcher used a questionnaire and interview; it consisted of 36 close-ended questionnaires which covered the point answers to the students' attitudes, negative-positive impressions, and the concept of blended learning. The interview consists of 6 questions that cover the point to answer the students' perceptions. The result showed 13 out of 20 students' perceptions of liking blended learning. It was because of the efficiency, creativity and effectiveness, joyful and interesting, flexible, and easy to understand. On the other hand, some students dislike blended learning because of the asynchronous material between online and offline classes and because it needs to be more communicative. Deals with the positive impact or advantage of blended learning, the student's knowledge about new media and learning outcomes are improved, and they become independent learning and interactive. In comparison, the negative impact or disadvantages of blended learning are inadequate facilities and infrastructure, unstable network connection, time and money consumption, limited time, and distracted by another application. Based on the questionnaire’s result, the students have a positive attitude towards blended learning. In contrast, the student's behavior in the classroom is negative, such as the students enter the classroom late, fall asleep with their heads on the table, leave the classroom, take part in the conversation with other friends, turn off the camera and sleep and ignore the explanation of the lecturer in online learning.
