IMPROVING THE STUDENTS LEARNING MOTIVATION USING LEARNING CYCLE MODEL ON THE MULTIVARIABLE CALCULUS SUBJECT

Abstract


The research aimed at improving the students learning motivation using learning cycle model on the multivariable calculus subject. This research belongs to the classroom action research. The research subjects were the students of Mathematics Education Study Program of Purwokerto Muhammadiyah University who took Multivariable Calculus subject.  There were 41 students in this class. The research was done in three cycles, in which every cycle consisted of planning, learning process, observation, and reflection. The instrument used was observation sheet and learning motivation questionnaire. The research showed that the students motivation was in the good category in the first cycle in which the questionnaire average score was 70,9,  meanwhile the score of the second cycle was 71,7, and for the third cycle was 72,4. The result showed that the learning process using cycle learning was succeed to improve the students learning motivation on the multivariable calculus subject.
