The study findings presented the robserved was greater than the rtable (0.972>0.312) at 0.05 significance level, which meant the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis, and the rejection of the null hypothesis was there. This designated that both variables are correlated. In addition, the correlation coefficient value of 0.972 could be interpreted as very strong. Therefore, it revealed that there was a positively strong relationship between students’ self-esteem and their speaking abilities for the eleventh-grade students of SMA Al-Mudatsiriyah Jakarta.
